Special Session on Fractional-Order Systems

The session is designated for researchers dealing with the fractional calculus and its utilization in the design of both basic and advanced function blocks and systems used in signal processing, modelling and/or control and regulation.

The current progress in specific system modelling, signal processing, control and other engineering and even non-engineering areas reveals the advantage of using the fractional approach. Based on the fractional-order calculus and fractional-order derivatives, it represents the generalization of the integer-order approach and derivatives. Although the fractional-order approach can be seen as unusual, it may provide more efficient behavior modelling, more accurate system control or system classification, all this not limited just to electronics but also other areas such as chemistry, biomedicine or even finance.
